|| Casual Threat ||
Casual Threat is a power house of players, takes scene painting to a whole new level. Robb Bonnell: Robb Bonnell started performing improv in 1995 with Honolulu’s own Loose Screws. Over the years, he rode their gravy train to performances in the glittering metropolises of Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Kona. In 2007, at Kumu Kahua Theatre, he and Danel Verdugo created and performed Now We Are Here, Honolulu’s first two-person improvised longform and his favorite show to date. His proudest onstage achievement, however, may have come in the summer of 2002 when he was a part of the cast that won the inaugural Terence Knapp Cup. R. Kevin Garcia Doyle: R. Kevin Garcia Doyle has been involved in improvisation in various ways for about 20 years and has the photos to prove it. In fact, he has photos that can prove a whole lot of things about a whole lot of people. He was a founding member of Loose Screws and, with them, has gotten to perform at Honolulu's Improvaganza Improv Festival, the Chicago Improv Festival, the Seattle Festival of Improvisational Theatre and the NBC Sketch Showdown in Los Angeles. The Screws' signature show, Screwbuki, has received a modicum of acclaim, particularly the Chicago Improv Festival's award for "Innovation in Improvisation." He's performed with Mental Tilapia on OC16 and is an occasional guest (and frequent light board operator) for On The Spot. R. Kevin is married to Sharon Garcia and dedicates all of his performances (especially performance of songs from 'Rock Band') to her. Shannon Winpenny: Shannon Winpenny was born and raised in Hawaii one the island of Oahu. She has studied theater at the University of Hawaii. Shannon performed and improvised with Loose Screws (Hawaii) before moving to Chicago and playing with teams like The Rooftop Players, Bevy, Duchess, Baby Brother Mother Soup and Dainty Fingers as well as productions such as "The Oracle" and "Silent Movie," both directed by Jonathan Pitts. She has written and performed in sketch shows such as "Who Gives a S*%t About Arkansas" and "Friends of Jim." Her training includes the Second City Conservatory, iO Chicago and the Annoyance. She is glad to be back home teaching and performing. It is evident in her infectious, contagious giglle both on and off stage. | |
